In 2021, the Association of Industrial Automation Enterprises of Ukraine (AIEU) began reorienting the development of 4.0 Centers towards European Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH). A series of events took place in the first half of the year, and in the fall we see 2 new DIHs in Kyiv – on the basis of the Center 4.0 “KPI” and at the Kyiv Academic University (KAU). According to our information, several more universities will become DIHs in 2022. But getting the DIH status and actually providing services to SMEs (which is the main function of these centers of expertise) are 2 big differences. How do European DIHs function, which are able to serve dozens or hundreds of SMEs? What is their structure, functionality, and how did they create them? And how is the first project to create such services in KPI developing?
